I guess its because they have more surface area and they actually fit into eachother like a puzzle instead of just points.

BUT your gears good for low rpm, if you set 750 rpm and no drake force, result was nasty. circle gears for high rpm, at 750 it's superstable

You are right, the top gears are only good up to 300 RPM.

What I find interesting is if you slow down the sim and zoom in on the teeth you'll notice the gears don't even touch each other.
