awesome, but what would be the uses?
It's an old-style mechanical fuel pump often found on gasoline engines.
The output valve appears to be stuck open.
Yep that's how they work
Scares the hell out of me that the standard fuel pump these days
is a brushed DC motor immersed in the tank with the fuel passing thru the core of the motor....
Good reason not to run your tank low:lol:
No air no BANG
I tried blocking the outlet like what would happen when the float bowl
in the carburetor is full and found the diaphragm spring is too strong?
That spring is what regulates the fuel pressure on the old stuff.
With the outlet blocked the pump should build pressure and stop following the cam till pressure is released actually a quite simple and elegant system;)
I have been trying to work with this and make it more realistic.....
Incompressible fluids my ASS :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:
Now I remember why I quit messing with water a long time ago TOO frustrating and too processor intensive:blush:

Xray,

The output valve doesn't stick open on my PC, but increasing the weight of the valve or adding a spring may help.

Gent,

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that the diaphragm spring was used to regulate the fuel pressure.
Apparently, this is one of those scenes which is computer-dependent. In order for the output valve on my copy of your scene to operate properly, I had to increase the density of the three valve components, and I also had to reduce the sim frequency. Now it works smoothly as it's supposed to.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING!!!!!!!!!!!!
when the valve closes the rope shakes! FIX THAT ROPE!!!!!!
