ITs a really cool design, but I think the reason its not powerful is because what gives spawn engines their power is that the ball spawns in a tight area, and is colliding with everything, forcing the piston to move down and out of the way until the ball despawns. with this engine, the ball isn't being forced down at all, its just falling down.
this is basically a gravity powered engine.
I was gonna give you credit but it slipped my mind when I was uploading the scene.
I added it to the description.
I tried figuring out the code by myself, but I'm just not good at it.
Just a friendly tip. using hinges as linkages instead of springs is a much better way. I'd explain it, but its gonna be hard to explain with just text. Its a must know for engine makers though.
Here's an example of what i mean. http://www.algodoo.com/algobox/details.php?id=66692
the stretched hinges act as drive shafts. and is much more stable and easy to use than springs. you just have to click the hinge after you stretch it and type 1.0 for the hingecontsant in the script menu. then make the hinge a brake. Im sure im making it sound more difficult than it is. if you can't figure it out and you wanna learn how let me know.
I tried everything I could with this one. I've been messing with for hours. I just uploaded a very slight improved version. If you have any suggestions I would be more than happy to hear them
I think this is only 3x scaled though. my snowmobile ( in real life) measured a little over a meter tall, and 3 meters long.
Im actually working on a better snowmobile scene all together. its gonna have a rider. this scene was just to test what I could do on a technical level.
My new scene's gonna have better scenery with falling snow and everything.
bad? I think is a pretty well made gun, it just doesn't look super realistic. It fires and cycles just fine. maybe you just didn't know what you were doing. This is some pretty complicated, and fairly advanced stuff here. Don't get discouraged by such stupid meaningless comments, 333BusterBlock. Keep at it!
Awesome scene! however, for me the car was really twitchy and jittery. Also the tachometer shoots up to around 600 by itself. not sure if that's normal.
Great scene anyways. really fun to play with!
9/10
Really cool stuff. It would be nice if some recoil effects were added.
btw, another way to aim the gun without hold A is to press the middle mouse button
(scroll wheel click)
