Roman, you can make a 800 HP spawn engine in Algodoo easily. I was thinking in making a spring engine with a power curve (more RPM, less constant) but I'm quite tired of Algodoo right now
BTW nice car!
The practical frequency for spawn engines is 100 Hz or more. you should use the laser timer to delete the balls and use some kind of mechanism to avoid spawning two or more balls at the same time (that's why colliding timers are MUCH better than laser ones)
yes, it has spring spokes, but what are they useful for? Maybe if you put a stretched hinge connecting the motor circle with the wheel to avoid movement you can put less constant on the springs and they will act as another suspension / soft tires
I'm not trying to sound harsh, but this is quite nonsense. You could just copy the springs and paste them in the same place and you'd have more power.
Most of us algodooers like hard scenes, that took more than half a day to make. And making engines is for the challenge of making them work as you need, so we use spawn methods even if they're extremely unefficient.
Besides that's why I always criticize thruster engines. People who makes those seem that they don't care about their scenes, most of us say that.
Your spring transmissions are too bad, use constant 1e7 (1.00 * 10^7, it's the same) and damping 15. also use 4 springs for the transmissions instead of two
homieeee: thanks! I'm thinking on adding cloud reflections like Roman
Alien_RG: Yeah, I wanted to make that because I added the brake smoke. I can fix that anyways
vaidas: Mind that the engine is a thruster engine, I can make it even stronger
Also I can get rid of the speed limiter and ya, but I need a track anyways
X-Zibit, then how do you do burnouts? Noone wants traction control.
And for the ABS, I made it because I wanted the back gear to make smoke when braking anyways, so the wheel kinda locks and unlocks
Yeah, it is. now your transmissions won't jam anymore
If you want to make a better engine, put more weight to the gear, like 10 kg or more, and then you'll be able to make the springs stronger
Whoa good one
there's a timer thing close to the door that says time: error, and it would be nice if you could move with mouse (like in a 3d shooter, move forward with W and change angle of movement with the mouse)
PLEASE use 100 Hz or 120 Hz for your scenes! This engine backfires TOO much to be usable because the timing works by inaccuracy! But I like those engines you're making, seem creative 9/10
It's very simple, just hinge the two objacts, put 1e-030 in the hingeConstant thing, and move one of the objects. If one of them is fixed to the background, you'll need to press ALT to move either of them or the hinge will move with the object you're moving
Thanks, I'm happy you liked it
BTW, I'm gonna buy a GTX 750 Ti, do you think it'll work well with the fx6300 at 4 GHz? You're the tech guy here, I guess
