You could add 10 pistons more, reduce the strenght in the springs and add an rpm limiter (RPM limiter) to avoid explosions. The scene is awesome, but it isn't complete if it doesn't work OK!
Xray, I'm not sure, but I remember that you said something about rates in a marble race scene (the guy was BEGGING for rates, and you told him that he shouldn't ask but win them legally)
Anyways, I'm saying this because there is people saying "Awesome 5/5 :tup
: " and that annoys me a LOT
If Algoryx decides to do something, a rate bar in the integrated browser is something we need (and an "ignore scenes from this author" button too )
Or just being able to get to the standard page
Kilinich: maybe it hasn't got much torque, but I don't want to compete with other engines. this engine isn't totally useless, as it has some torque and lots of RPMs, and it will move light things perfectly, like a motorcycle or even a dune buggy. You've got some overpowered engines, and may I ask: what's the point of that, if you can go up a steep hill in highest gear?? I want realistic engines
No words. Please don't say that you'll report reuploaders, because no one will copy THIS scene.
The suspension is awful, and the rims have too little detail. also, that's NOT a masterpiece. That's a texture with wheels. Get rid of the texture and make a decent car with polygons! My first car didn't have a texture, but gradient textures, and it wasn't TOO bad! Just try.
Lucas is right. the ENTIRE scene can be done in ~15 minutes
Awesome
Only 2 things: the view is quite unrealistic, and the steering works even when you're braked! You should make the steering dependant to the speed you're going, so that when you're stopped, it doesn't steer, and when you're going fast, if you tap right you steer like hell!
And for the view, maybe you can spawn the yellow lines with a gap between them, and make them go at different speeds depending in your speed. Just an idea
It's too easy. (12/15 without zoom, and 15/15 with zoom and aiming only at the farthest ones) It needs random movements to simulate the player (maybe a STOP BREATHING button can reduce them to half for some time, and a difficulty selector defines movement?)
Also when you shoot the ground, it makes the same effect and damage than in the steel targets. Maybe you can make some dirt particles flying off the ground?
Just ideas. I can try to do that myself if you're not willing to!
Also did you know that you can increase accuracy a whole lot by making things VERY heavy? For example, you can run this at 100 Hz if you make densities of 50 or even 300 in moving parts, and 10 or less on unimportant boxes or whatever. Then you can increase springs' constant, and it should eject and everything!
Look at my version. It uses more density, but only 200 Hz and it ejects without the use of Thyme. also what did you put in the spring? I can help you with Thyme if you want. You may have forgotten some symbol or anything, and that's why it disappeared.
When I downloaded the scene, the governor was broken. Maybe you can fix it by fixating the governor's circle to the rod attached to it, instead of putting 4 hinges. Sometimes doing that is glitchy
Use 150 Hz or more (click on the gear in the upper right corner, go to Simulation tab, and put 150 or 200 Hz)
The densities are Ok. but 60 Hz (the default) is very bad for anything that requires precision
You can't just spongify a wheel. if you select it, you'll see that it's not perfectly symmetrical. Also there's no softwheel that won't stretch if you make it spin fast, so you should just make it a circle and ya
"...because it barely uses any gas..."
By American standards, I guess
The Prius comes with a 1800 cc engine, which is quite consuming especially in my country! There are lots of engines (like VW Scirocco's 1.4 160 HP or Fiat Bravo 1.4 140 HP) that consume very little gas compared to the Prius, and have more HP.
Also, if I had to choose between a Prius or a Veyron in a zombie apocalypse scenario (the Veyron uses more than 1 litre/km) I would choose the Veyron, because the Prius is just too ugly
Sure! do you want a spring type engine? or a length engine (more realistic)? I can even make a spawn one if you want.
P.S: do you want to come in the chat? It's easier for us to exchange ideas and help each other with hard projects we're doing.
Usually it's homieeee, lololoer, sometimes ngphil and Xray, and me.
Yeah, the solution is not to use FIXATES or GLUE to stick an object that changes radius to another. Just use a hinge with constant 1e-30 (least possible constant) and hinge the other circle to the back of th engine. The circle that changes radius will be able to move, but the other will not fall.
Or, if you think the gearbox will go to more than 50 rad/s, just replace the fixate with 2 hinges (or a braked hinge at the middle)
It's better to say that he WAS the developer. and yeah, you could have waited three months...
If it was accidental then press the delete button below the Play button
No, there's no solution to dragging. The only way to make it unnoticeable is making an engine in which the pistons are opposed and two fire at the same time, so the drag they create is countered.
And for the pos thing, you'll notice that if you are moving fast with the engine, the balls will start braking it, or they will pop out. Algodoo needs to know where to spawn the balls, but somehow e.pos is slow and spawns the balls in the position of the previous step, so when you're moving fast, say 20 m/s (= 64 km/h) then the position where the ball has to spawn is [2,1] but the next frame it's [2,1.3] and the ball is spawned 0.3 meters from where it should so it spawns outside the cylinder and doesn't power the piston at all. For that, the solution is to use pos:= pos (it spawns in the position of the circle that has the script).
Also you have to make the balls push the piston all the way down if you don't want to lose energy! There you're losing a lot of torque by deleting them so soon, and also because you didn't put anything to collide wih the ball. Make a box that ONLY collides with the spawned balls, and make it large so that it covers the place where the balls will spawn. Then the circles will shoot downwards and create more energy.
There are lots of things you have to improve to make it stronger, but remember that a spring engine will always be stronger than a spawn engine!
First make those V-shapes in the upper part of the engine bigger (like getting to the middle of the cylinder or even more). This will give the balls even more energy.
Make the balls' radius 0.0695 so that they cover all the cylinder all the time (only change density) and make them push the piston until it's ALL THE WAY DOWN. When it's down kill the ball.
Use:
pos := pos;
vel := entity.vel;
Just copy that, erase the pos and vel that are already there, and paste it
Why didn't you name your account "Kimor4ik 2"? It's so obvious
Why I'm saying this:
- kimor4ik is banned, so you couldn't have downloaded the scene anyways
- Why don't you ask kimor4ik the reason of his ban, if you've been talking with him and he told you to reshare this?
This reminds me of freefun15. if you know what I mean
