It's not a traditional spring engine though:P
There aren't actually many vehicles with this type of scripted engine besides mine.

The only reason I prefer these over spawn engines is because there's no balls to fly out of the engine at high speed. Also they are more reliable in general. I know they are kinda cheap though.
What I find interesting is if you slow down the sim and zoom in on the teeth you'll notice the gears don't even touch each other.

This is pretty cool

Very interesting design.
This is probably the best chain gun I've ever seen in algodoo!

adding to favorites
Something Ive always wondered about your engines is why do you use rotating circles to delete the spawned balls rather than just having a box at the bottom of the power stroke to delete the balls?
This is fantastic! I love how the brakes glow when you put on the breaks. I was trying to do something similar with my trophy truck but that kind of scripting is beyond me. The shading on the chassis is amazing as well!
holy crap :o
Very interesting
The reciprocating mechanism is awesome! I've never seen anything like before. I wonder if it would be practical in the real worth with the magazine going pack and forth though.

good work though 10/10
This is awesome! and I like the driver ;)

What gent means by "huge" is the length. The reason it's so powerful is because its almost 100 meters long. A good Algodoo engine should be powerful and small. Around 1 square meter. And a realistic weight.

This is still great though!

I added a scene response.

This engine is already the size of a football field, why do you need it larger?
I thought his right arm was a penis. not gonna lie.
I was wondering the same thing
This is amazing!
You can remove the scene. I was trying to help but it seems I've caused more harm than good. :/
This is really cool but I think the exhaust should be slower at idle.
Fantastic!
Thanks!
I was inspired by dvorkin but I didn't directly use any of his designs. I dont think any of his tracks have the circle teeth like mine.
Weight is everything in Algodoo. it took me a while to figure that out. Once I did my scenes got much better.
Also with this type of spring engine set the legacy mode of the springs to 2 in the script menu. This makes the engine not explode at high RPM and/or high spring constant.
And you should at least turn up the sim frequency to 100 in the option menu.
And get rid of restitution on EVERYTHING! it just makes colliding objects more stable and not so bouncy and jittery.

I think thats about everything haha!

excellent as always! I really love your scenes! :D

Edit: "ununderstandable" really, Linkage? is that even a word?

I hope you dont leave any time soon. You are one of my favorite scene makers. your scenes are always so fun to play with and satisfying. and also very inspiring for me.
I was just messing with you, Linkage. I wasn't trying to offend you or anything
Can you please teach me how you make spawn engines work at high speed. it's something I still havnt been able to figure out :s
It's the reason why I use scripted spring engines on basically everything

I was 80% sure you were joking but I wasn't totally sure haha.
This actually made me laugh
The guy on the right is going at it lol
I actually made something extremely similar a while back. I never finished it so I didn't upload it.
