The deal is that you get so far from the origin that lots of variables are very rounded. Particularly position values. Phailure ensues. Nothing can be done about it unless you do cool math involving a moving origin, or tack several more digits to the already lengthy position variables.
Very nice as that style of shock absorber goes, but NOT perfect. Perfect does not exist. They can be broken if you crush them and don't have a whole lot of travel. Would rate an eight, but you get a four for being so cocky.
Oh, and CPS, hinges have their uses in suspension, but I wouldn't call them better or more advanced than springs. Especially with the improvements in hinge calculations with version five, now they're kinda shaky.
It only appears to suddenly blast out. What's actually happening is that each block is bouncing off the one closer to the center like you'd expect. It looks like a sudden burst because as the blocks separate from each other, the number of contacts in the scene suddenly drops and it stops lagging.
Looks like it's caused by something getting out of sync. If you can find a way to solidly lock the legs in time with each other, that should fix it. Otherwise amazing!
I didn't really intend the main laser to totally destroy everything in one or two hits. That is reserved for the orbital cannon. It's calibrated for things on the scale of the tank or smaller, assuming default density. If you want it to send two tons flying with ease, mess around with its density, speed, and length. Just note that if you alter the density the beam may sink or rise a bit, and if you change its length you will need to alter its speed too, or modify its position.
EDIT: you can also try messing with its width. That will alter fewer other properties for fine adjustment.
Most scenes have a killer plane just above that height, that's all. Otherwise I'd have it come from a thousand meters above the target rather than 900m above the origin. If you have something more epic in mind, I would love to see what you're cooking up.
Umm, how many hours were spent making this? It doesn't do anything at all, and it's too complicated to be used as scenery either. I'm just not going to rate this, but it looks to me like a monumental waste of time. More so than spending hours on phun making something that does something, that is. We've got textures for a reason.
Hey cool. Nice walker, thank you for credit with the gun script. I have some newer scripts without the bugs of the old one you're using a variation of. You can use any you want, especially if you're putting them on something so impressive.
